MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER - #6 Jack Vargo

Jack Vargo hit .359 and led the team in Runs
& Stolen Bases in addition to providing great
defense for the Knights.

The 2015 Marietta Knights season saw a lot of victories, a ton of outstanding performances and many candidates worthy of this award. In the end, it comes down to the player that always seemed to a big factor in all those wins. Jack Vargo had a great season all around. Batting in the lead-off spot Jack started game after game by getting on base, stealing and scoring. Jack hit for average and power and put tremendous pressure on defenses whenever he was on base with his great speed and baseball IQ. That baseball IQ along with Jack's glove also came up big for the Knights on defense. A great team player, Jack was unselfish and played all over the field making great plays at 2B, SS and in the OF. Jack led the team in Runs Scored with 36 and Tied for the team lead in SB's with 31. Jack was 3rd on the team in hitting with a .359 average. He played in 41 of the Knights 42 games missing only on the day he was confirmed in his church. Great job Jack!

THE KNIGHT AWARD - #24 Nathan Brooks

Nathan Brooks hit .303 on the year and turned in
76 putouts.

This award goes to the player that best exemplifies the Marietta Knights team mission and values. This player spends every minute on the field trying to become better, gives maximum effort and is a great teammate. Nathan came to the Knights showing great power and a swing that was a little all over the place. He went to work honing his approach at the plate and proved to be incredibly coachable. His improvement was immediate as he blasted a 2 run double in the Knights' first game of the season to give Marietta the lead in a win over Coal Mountain. He went on to have a great offensive season with a .303 average. His power and speed on the bases made him one of the Knights' most dangerous weapons. Nathan also became a versatile fielder contributing at C, 1B and in the OF. Nathan was 2nd on the team in putouts with 76. Nathan was one of only 2 players to play in all 42 of the Knights' games.

Hunter Williamson hit .367, scored 25 runs and turned
in 43 assists.

PROSPECT AWARD - #17 Hunter Williamson
This is the player whose upward trajectory indicates that he has a great chance to make an impact at the next level. In his 4th season with the Knights Hunter had another all around standout season. Hunter was second on the team in hitting with a .367 average and runs scored with 25. Another unselfish player, Hunter spent much of the season away from his natural position but still finished second on the team with 43 Assists. Hunter was solid on the mound also with the team's third best ERA. Along with Nathan, Hunter played in all 42 Knights' games. This was the second season in a row in which Hunter played in every game.
